SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
In choosing Baptism for your child, you are cooperating with God’s plan for all His children. Baptism is the first step on your child’s Journey into Faith.
If you are expecting your first child, have just had your first child, or desire baptism for an older child, parents are required to attend two baptismal preparation sessions that are each approximately 90 minutes, led by Diane Wickersheim, Baptism Catechist. Parents who have already participated in some form of Baptismal preparation in the past, are welcome but not required to attend. Contact our Parish Secretary to schedule a prep session or baptism date.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION / CONFESSION
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a healing Sacrament where God’s love overshadows and transforms our sin. The grace of Christ is present and gives life were there once was sin. The Church asks that a Catholic Christian celebrate the Sacrament at least once a year. Frequent Confession builds a life of grace and love.

First Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation celebrated for the first time is at the age of reason and before receiving First Holy Communion. The parish provides preparation sessions for parents and children to help children enter into the Sacramental life that was begun at Baptism. This is especially important to establish a faith-filled life.
St. John-Sacred Heart Parish School students prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of their religious education.
Children who participate in the Tri-Parish Religious Education Program prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of the Program.

SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST
Receiving the Eucharist in Holy Communion is an intimate union with Jesus Christ. Life in Christ has its foundation in the Eucharist banquet.

First Holy Communion is a special time and preparation, and like all Sacraments, is a "yes" to God's divine life. The parish provides preparation sessions for parents and children to help children continue into the Sacramental life that was begun at Baptism.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Confirmation completes the Sacraments of initiation where we respond like Mary, and say
“yes” to God. Christ promised this outpouring of the Spirit, which He fulfilled first on Easter Sunday and then at Pentecost.
Confirmation comes to a moment of initiation for those who are 16, baptized, have received
their First Holy Communion and are living a life of faith.
The parish provides preparation sessions for the Sacrament of Confirmation within our
Tri-Parish Religious Education Program.
