Welcome to St. John - Sacred Heart Parish

A Message From Father Mike

 - Saturday, August 15-  St. Mary Help of Christians, Hilbert, 4:00 pm
This Mass also available at 91.7 FM in the Hilbert church parking lot, the Eucharist will be
brought out to those listening on the radio in the parking lot.

 - Sunday, August 16 - St. John-Sacred Heart, Sherwood Site, 8:00 am

This Mass also available at 87.7 FM in the Sherwood church parking lot, the Eucharist will be
brought out to those listening on the radio in the parking lot.  3 portable radios are available if
you have issues tuning in your car radio or wish to listen to Mass outside.  You can come into
church at Mass time and request a radio.  Please return radio to church after Mass.

Note: There are no weekday Masses at this time. There will be no Mass at
St. Mary of the Seven Dolors, Stockbridge for the remainder of August.

Mass Attendance: First Come/First Serve Basis
(Reservations are no longer being taken).

The dispensation from the Sunday obligation of the Mass remains in effect.

Currently Calumet County is limiting public gatherings to 50 people.  The Governor's Emergency Order #1 requires the wearing of face coverings now in effect for Mass attendees including weddings and funerals.  Parishes in the diocese will continue to
follow the safety precautions as follows:

All will enter through a single entrance
You will use hand sanitizer, receive a mask if you don't have one, and have your temperature taken
(a no--touch thermometer will be used)

Pews will be sectioned for social distancing to show where you can/cannot be seated
There will be no missalettes in church, no choir  -  but a cantor and musician
Only a priest will consume the Blood of Christ
Only a priest or deacon  will distribute Communion; an usher will assist with flow
Bulletins will be available as you leave church

How to Receive Communion
Leave your mask on as you approach the priest
Receive the Eucharist in you hand
Step to the side in the direction of the flow
Take your mask down on one side and consume the Eucharist
Put your mask back on as you return to your pew

What Will Not Be Different at Mass
We will hear all of the readings like always; we will pray for each other; we will participate in all the
Eucharist prayers and we will receive Jesus in the Eucharist

For those 65 and Older
We would love you back at Mass, but please use your best judgement.  If you have an underlying
health condition, please be cautious about coming to Mass.

Face Mask Warriors!
We have joined up with the local chapter of the Wisconsin Face Mask Warriors - "a rag-tag band of sewing wizards, drivers and scavengers who poured nearly 30,000 quality face masks for free into the local medical community in just the last seven days."  We are in need of fabric, wire and thread.  If you are interested in donating materials, making masks or even driving, please contact Sue Pauly and she will set you up!  Contact: suepauly17@gmail.com or at 920-507-0125.

Stay Safe - No Sewing Required!

Check out this very quick tutorial on how to make a washable mask using a couple hair ties and a bandana or other fabric from around the house!
