St. John-Sacred Heart started out as two seperate parishes.  St. John the Baptist was founded in 1862 and Sacred Heart was founded in 1885.  The schools combined in 1969 and the parishes combined in 1995.  The two church sites were kept and the two school sites split the grades (K-2 in St. John and 3-8 in Sacred Heart)
