St. John - Sacred Heart is the first and only elementary / middle school in the Green Bay Diocese to receive the "2011 School of Distinction" title.

SJSH principal, Kerry Sievert explains that over nineteen pages of criteria had to be met to be eligible to apply for this award.

The GB Diocese encompasses the Upper Peninsula past Oshosh - there are 61 Catholic schools in this territory.

Only two schools were awarded the title of 2011 School of Distinction - SJSH School and Xavier High School.
