Last summer about 17 families (69 people) went to Chicago for the 1^st IPA Summer Family Field Trip. Families traveled independently according to their own interests upon disembarking the train. In 2012, the IPA will again offer the Chicago trip from June 27-28, 2012 (click here to be directed to a different web page for the Chicago trip details).  This year the IPA is offering another quasi-independent trip to Flagstaff, AZ departing June 27, 2012.  You will not be able to do both, unless you can be in two places at one time.  EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

 

 

All travel after disembarking the train in Flagstaff is independent (unguided/unplanned), with the exception of a few optional packages that will be offered. One such optional package will be overnight accommodations and breakfast at the San Francisco De Asis Parish’s Retreat Center in Flagstaff.  This “Olde House” is on the Historic Register. This retreat center is walking distance from the Amtrak station, car rentals, public transportation and shuttle services to the Grand Canyon, Phoenix and Sedona, and is sure to enhance your journey to the Grand Canyon and many surrounding attractions/national parks at your expense and scheduling. The IPA is pleased to have been approved to use this retreat center as it will help keep costs down for families on a budget. To reserve your accomodations at the retreat center, click on the instructions below after reviewing their facility using the link to their website provided under useful links below.
